Most food apps give everyone the same score. FoodHalo scores each product against your goals, your allergies and what you care about - and shows its reasoning in plain language.
How it works
Point the camera at a barcode. FoodHalo reads the product, weighs it against your Preference Halo, and shows a fit score with the evidence behind it: nutrition grade, how processed it is, how well it fits your goal, environmental impact, packaging and organic status. If something you have declared as an allergen is in there, you get a full-screen warning you cannot scroll past.
What makes it different
- Allergen safety is the priority. Incomplete allergen data is always flagged as incomplete, never quietly treated as safe.
- It explains itself. Every score comes with the reasons that produced it, not a number to take on faith.
- It works without an account. No email, no password, no sign-up.
- No dark patterns. The free tier stays genuinely useful, and nothing free today moves behind a paywall later.
In beta
FoodHalo is in closed testing on iOS. Android follows from the same codebase.
A note on what this is not
FoodHalo is a wellness tool, not a medical one. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice, and its guidance is never a substitute for a professional who knows your situation.
